'Candy game'
The legal representative, handling the case, described the defendant's actions to the judicial body.
She stated his those affected were disadvantaged youngsters who were staying at a youth camp which he operated.
Ruben conducted a "sweet game" with the minors, the prosecutor stated, in which he would enter the boys' rooms when they were preparing to sleep and tell them to ingest treats "rapidly".
She informed the proceedings Ruben had conducted this practice with the boys "over an extended period", and children had earlier experienced illness the following morning.
She said Ruben had been capable of justifying this over a long period as the children being "overexcited from fun", until his stepchild had suspicions in summer 2025.
The legal representative stated further: "This year his stepson had suspicions about the situation, with valid cause.
"They decided to have a look in the man's possessions."
The legal counsel said items including infant oil, Vaseline and injection devices were found, and his family member contacted the police about his worries.
She stated the defendant went on to conduct the "treat game" with six boys that evening - July 26th - and they were everyone unwell the subsequent day.
"Law enforcement" had not gone out by that stage," she continued.
The oversight body, the police conduct office, previously told that it was investigating law enforcement's management of the events.
The legal representative said the youngsters were having difficulty walking due to their sickness, so Ruben's stepson notified the police again.
She stated the defendant then engaged in the "treat game" in a space of five minors.
